PLEASE DO TOUCH
Please do touch is an interactive piece of work about human connection where I made up to 100 mini sculptures by collaboratively shaping unfired clay with several participants during everyday encounters (with a friend over coffee, with a child during playtime, with a partner on a date).
A video of the process was exhibited alongside these sculptures, with a lump of clay inviting the audience to touch and a bird sculpture that carried a message on its back: an extract from Utopia by Maria Vegel.
CHEWING -GUM: INTIMACY AS RESIDUE
Using gum as a metaphor to process the end of a romantic relationship.
Through painting, letterpress printing, and photography, I explore how emotional experiences leave traces. The work culminates in a photoshoot with my ex‑partner, which allowed both of us to reflect on the relationship in a constructive, humorous and creative way.

A reflection on a personal experience growing up in a home where the female members of the family were limited in their ability to pursue their passion, in my case, making Art.
A video features my nephew reading a poem I wrote to myself, symbolising the end of a cycle and the beginning of a more cooperative and nourishing relationship between genders.
By involving a child, I wanted to represent hope for change and the possibility of new ways of relating to one another.
